Barry Allen’s resurrection back in 2009’s Flash: Rebirth set forth the events that lead to the DC’s Rebirth. It was later followed by Flashpoint in 2011 which relaunched the DC Universe into the New 52. Flashpoint: Batman ties in Bruce finding the later from his (alternate timeline) father.
